Security & Acceptable Use
What this screenshot editor protects, its limits, and how to use it responsibly.

Purpose and scope
Snip.Chat creates simulated chat screenshots for design, demonstrations, education and creative work. Last updated: September 11, 2026. It is not a messaging service and does not send messages to the people or platforms shown in a screenshot.
Protecting your content
Use the HTTPS site and an up-to-date browser. Local drafts are stored in the browser without application-level encryption. Anyone with access to your browser profile, device or exported files may be able to read them. Avoid shared devices for sensitive work and clear site data when finished. No browser editor can guarantee complete security.
AI and external services
Optional AI features send the relevant content to our server and configured providers as described in the Privacy Policy. Remove passwords, payment details, identity documents and other confidential information before submitting text or screenshots. Service API credentials are handled on the server; this does not make submitted content end-to-end encrypted.
Simulated security labels
Encryption notices, verification marks, payment cards, delivery states and call records inside a generated chat are visual mockups. They do not prove encryption, identity, a real payment, an actual conversation or affiliation with the depicted platform. Snip.Chat is not endorsed by those messaging platforms.
Your responsibilities
Use only content, names, images and likenesses that you have permission or another lawful basis to use. Clearly identify simulated content where others could mistake it for a real record. Do not use the editor for fraud, identity theft, harassment, fabrication of evidence or other unlawful activity. You are responsible for the content you create and how you share it.
Exports and availability
Review screenshots before sharing; exported files can be copied and redistributed beyond your control. Keep your own backup of work you need. Browser storage can be cleared or become unavailable, and the service or AI features may fail or change. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or the accuracy of generated content.
Reporting a concern
Do not test vulnerabilities against other users, extract their data, disrupt the service or post secrets publicly. A useful report describes the affected page, reproducible steps and the potential impact without exposing personal information.
Security reports
To report a security vulnerability, contact mail@snip.chat. Describe your request without including passwords, API keys or unnecessary sensitive information.
